An excellent new science fiction/adventure thriller is soon set to hit theaters all across the United States. The movie is called Interstellar, and it is already being touted as a major new Hollywood “event” movie. The implication is strong that Interstellar could be the next massive blockbuster film to hit the silver screen all over the world.
Interstellar follows the adventures of a team of deep space explorers who discover a worm hole on the farthest reaches of the galaxy. The team wrestles with the cosmic implications of their amazing and unforeseen discovery. The bulk of the film revolves around the action that develops after the team’s leader makes the momentous decision to explore inside of the worm hole.
The cast of Interstellar is a veritable Who’s Who of top bankable Hollywood stars. There is a winning combination of new faces alongside proven veterans in the cast. The film is set to include performances by Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Bill Irwin, Ellen Burstyn, and Michael Caine.
Interstellar was put together during the last few months of 2013. On set locations included Alberta, Canada, Los Angeles, and even the south of Iceland. Great care was taken to preserve the lonely, icy feel of deep space. Critics are already praising the incredible special effects work, but the real appeal of the film may well end up being the amazing sets that were created for it.
The initial release of Interstellar is slated to take place in the United States (on November 7, 2014), with a world wide release date to be announced in the very near future. Hollywood power player Paramount Pictures will handle distribution duties for the film in the United States. Meanwhile, Warner Bros. will perform this function in other territories. The film already looks like a success.
