47 Ronin Trailer

Starring Keeanu Reeves, of Matrix Trilogy fame, 47 Ronin is set in 18th Century Japan. Blurring the lines between fact and fiction, it is loosely based on the true story of 47 Samurai warriors told for hundreds of years. A story of betrayal and revenge, 47 Warriors set out to exact their revenge on the ones who have slain their master and bring honor back to their names. Banished them from their lands and forced to roam, they seek to restore order once again.

The leader of the of the banished Samurai, Kuranosuke Oishi (Hiroyuki Sanada), discovers a tale that speaks of a slave named Kai (Reeves), raised by a mystical group called the Tengu, a shape shifting people from Japanese lore. Kai is an outcast who was forced into slavery. Oishi finds him, and recruits him to help them in their quest. At first, Kai is shunned, as he is only a “half-breed” and not a true Samurai warrior. Throughout the film, he is constantly seeking to prove himself, as well as win the affection of Mika (Ko Shibasaki).

On a quest that most would consider a suicide mission, the 47 Ronin, with Kai by their side, are prepared to fight to the death to reclaim their honor and take back their homeland. From being far outnumbered by the sea of armies, to battling vicious mystical creatures, 47 Ronin is sure to excite. Visionary Carl Erik Rinsch of “The Gift” directed the film. Producer and Screenwriter Chris Morgan, best known for films such as Wanted and Fast & Furious, assisted in bringing this edgy tale to life. 47 Ronin is action packed and filled with adventure. It is sure to keep audiences on the edge of their seat.
